Posted by Greg Kasavin on April 10, 2014

Transistor is coming soon!

Mark your calendar for May 20, 2014. In just a few weeks, our next game will be available for the PlayStation 4 and PC!

We’ve been putting the finishing touches on it and think it’s just about ready.

This week at PAX East in Boston, several of us from Supergiant will be taking a short break from development to show you some of our latest progress. We’ll have a near-final build of the game running on the PlayStation 4, which you’ll be able to get your hands on at our booth 892. It was one year ago at PAX East that we showed Transistor for the first time!

We’ll have more details about Transistor in the days leading up to our launch next month. Until then, here are some quick facts we wanted to share, and stay tuned for more:

When is Transistor due out?
Transistor’s release date is May 20, 2014.

What platforms is Transistor coming to?
PlayStation 4 and PC.

Where will I be able to get the game?
On PSN for the PlayStation 4 version, and on Steam or our web site for the PC version.

How much is the game?
Transistor will be sold for $19.99 in North America, and €18.99 / £14.99 in Europe.

Will Transistor be available in my country?
We plan for a worldwide launch. Transistor includes English voiceover and text in English, French, Spanish, Italian, German, Russian, and Brazilian Portuguese.

Can I preorder the game?
Not at this time though we’re looking into it!

Hey are these new screenshots?
Yes! We wanted to show a few more environments without giving away too much. These shots are taken straight from gameplay.

I have more questions.
Sure! Read our Transistor FAQ or send questions to @SupergiantGames on Twitter or here on this web site.

Stay tuned for more, and get ready to play Transistor in the near future!

So, when is the soundtrack going to be out? :)

  • Anthony on 10/4/2014

No pre-order still!? Maybe a Special Edition you can only get from your own website? TAKE MY MONEYYYY.

  • Marco on 10/4/2014

    Wow! Portuguese!!! Thanks!

  • Edison on 10/4/2014

And plus you're releasing it on my Birthday. OMG this is AMAZING

  • Albert on 10/4/2014

Wow .."and Brazilian Portuguese", thank you very much, I really enjoyed Bastion (one of my favorite games) and can't wait to play Transistor, and now in my language.

  • Ross on 10/4/2014

@Anisa; Darren Korb said in a tweet that the soundtrack should be out at about the same time.

  • Marty Runyon on 10/4/2014

I can't wait to get this on a big screen. Looks so good.

  • Dorian Galli on 10/4/2014

May 20th needs to come faster! SQUEEEEEEEE!!

  • Andrew on 10/4/2014

Question - what are the minimum specs required for pc? I have a low-end mac with bootcamp that was able to play Bastion, so I hope it can play this...

  • aratuk on 10/4/2014

By "PC" do you also mean Mac (and Linux), in addition to Windows? I hope so, since Bastian is on all three PC platforms. All too often there is no mention of which OS, and you find out from system requirements or when you go to download a demo and see that it's an EXE. Specificity!!!

  • Andrew on 10/4/2014

@ aratuk - it has been confirmed to first come out for PC and PS4, and later for linux and Mac (native versions) like for Bastion

  • James on 10/4/2014

So, Why not put this out directly on Steam? Obviously you know how to work steam a la Bastion.... You could have many pre-order dollars already.... And +1 for please make a special edition so you can have more of my money.... <3

  • dimazawr23 on 11/4/2014

Amazing! Also thanks for Russian language!

  • Jonathan Villariasa on 11/4/2014

I am so excited to hear that it comes out so soon! I have been waiting for this game since it was first announced, and promised that it would be the reason that I purchase a PS4. I may not be able to get it that soon, but it's going to happen!

  • Desotho on 11/4/2014

Uaah, i want to preorder. Take my money! =P

  • Micha on 12/4/2014

I'm really excited about Transistor and loved Bastion. Thank you guys for making these incredible games! That said, a quick question from me would be how long it'll roughly take until the Linux version will be out on Steam? Do you expect it to be month or something closer to a year? I'm asking since in the latter case I probably get it on my PS4 at launch even if I very much prefer to play on Linux via Steam. Best, Micha

  • Haley on 13/4/2014

OMG! I didn't think it was going to be out until at least Summer, if not later--I'm SO EXCITED!! Bastion is one of my favorite games ever so I'll be picking up Transistor Day one for SURE. Good luck guys, I hope it's a smash success! You all deserve it!

  • Aaron on 13/4/2014

Bastion was one of the best games I ever played, and one of the only games to make me tear up (saving **** at the end), I will buy this game the moment it comes out and I will play the crap out of it. Bless you for making games, you guys have amazing taste in art-styles and music and ambiance setting, I am super excited....yeah.

  • Arekus on 13/4/2014

Russian text? I love you. :3

  • TrueRadiantFree on 14/4/2014

I hope you guys can make a special edition boxed copy of the game, if not a disc, at least a PS4 box with a digital code included. Cause, I mean if Angry Birds: Star Wars and Putty Squad can get boxed copies, this DEFINITELY NEEDS ONE! :)

  • Igor Aguiar on 15/4/2014

BRAZILIAN PORTUGUESE! OH YEAH! We love u guys sooo much <3

  • Alan on 15/4/2014

It's finally going to launch! I've been waiting for this game for an year now.

  • William Cross on 16/4/2014

I have been following the game ever since its initial reveal at last year's PAX East. I am quite happy you guys got this far. Can't wait to pre-order as well as get my hands on the soundtrack and maybe some potential stuff in the future, like you did with the Bastion merchandise. Very, very excited for this. I do have one fear though. Like Andrew mentioned earlier in the comments, I would like to know what the system requirements are for the PC. I do hope they're not much more extensive than those of Bastion, despite the improved animations, visual effects and so on. If I could experience the game the way it's meant to be played, with all of its visual glory, fluid animations and fighting so many enemies at once, then I would be really happy. Hope you guys have a successful launch and hope Transistor is a big enough success that you continue making your dream a reality! Best of luck.

  • Asincrono on 18/4/2014

Hey, why in Edison's birthday and not mine. 7th May is as good as 20th! ¬¬ (Thanks for the good work, and the enjoyment I got from it playing Bastion. I hope soon I can say the same about Transistor. Thank you very much.)

  • William Cross on 18/4/2014

@Asincrono It will feel like my birthday when the game comes out <3

  • Mike on 20/4/2014

Been excited for this game since you guys announced it - even more excited now that it's almost here! You'll have my money the second it goes on sale. Good luck with the finishing touches, can't wait to play it :)

  • Shane on 21/4/2014

This news just made my whole month.

  • Michael on 22/4/2014

Cannot wait to play it - except I'll have to, since it comes out at the beginning of a 3-week vacation! Still, I'm hoping for some kind of deluxe edition with some swag and the soundtrack. I still listen to the Bastion soundtrack on occasion even though I've long since mothballed the game itself.
